Owner & Lead Groomer for The Woof
Several years ago, I stumbled upon a life changing opportunity when I rescued a Giant Schnauzer, P! At the age of 6 months, she was in a pitiful state. Her fur was matted, and she was grimy from neglect. It was clear she had never experienced the care of even a bath.

Several years ago, I stumbled upon a life changing opportunity when I rescued a Giant Schnauzer, P! At the age of 6 months, she was in a pitiful state. Her fur was matted, and she was grimy from neglect. It was clear she had never experienced the care of even a bath.
Determined to help her, I went online to book her a grooming appointment. No luck, at least not any openings for the quality groom I was looking for. Which led to me deciding i was going to try grooming her myself. I loved the process of creating her pattern, trimming her furnishings, and transforming her appearance. (Although the first few times I did not do her pattern right). It was this hands on experience that ignited within me a passion for grooming.
That following summer I started dog walking to get myself out the house. I found myself not only walking dogs for my clients but also grooming them. Each dog came with a different type of coat, presenting a new challenge and learning opportunity. My clients were happy with my work, but I knew that it could be better.
I figured I needed formal education to fully understand how to properly care for a dog's coat. This led me to secure a job at Petco.
At Petco, I not only honed my grooming skills but also achieved a significant milestone in my grooming career – I passed my grooming certification. With this achievement under my belt, I felt prepared to venture beyond the corporate grooming world.
Armed with a sense of confidence and a desire to further my grooming skills, I moved to a small boutique as a bather / baby groomer. After outgrowing my position, I was ready for my next challenge. I accepted a dual role as an assistant manager / assistant lead groomer at a salon. I gained some good skills there, beyond grooming. It was a
Armed with a sense of confidence and a desire to further my grooming skills, I moved to a small boutique as a bather / baby groomer. After outgrowing my position, I was ready for my next challenge. I accepted a dual role as an assistant manager / assistant lead groomer at a salon. I gained some good skills there, beyond grooming. It was an useful experience. In due time i was ready for my next stepping stone. I found myself working directly under a prestigious Master Groomer. I was fortunate enough to learn alot in the regards to the art and science of grooming both in her salon and through her mobile grooming company.
The time finally came when I felt ready to establish my own grooming salon, a dream I had unknowingly nurtured since the day I groomed P. My journey doesn't stop here, though. I am constantly seeking ways to further elevate my grooming skills for the benefit of the dogs in my care and their families. I believe in continuous growth, and I am excited to dive deeper into the world of grooming. My commitment to ongoing education sees me attending seminars, classes, and expos to stay on top of the latest trends and techniques. With an eye on the future, I plan to participate in competitive grooming.
